At 100K Opportunities, we know that building networks and relationships is a key step on the path towards a sustainable, lasting career. But not everyone has access to the networks that can help them land the job they want and deserve.
Our partners at LinkedIn are putting their networking expertise to work to close this “network gap” with the Plus One Pledge.
The Plus One Pledge invites LinkedIn members to commit to sharing their time, talent, and resources with people outside of their networks who might not have the same access to opportunity they do. They offer three ways members can help level the playing field and build their own networks:
- Give your time – Share 30 minutes of your time for an informational interview with someone outside of your network.
- Give your talent – Mentor someone in your community through organizations like Year Up or MENTOR.
- Give your network – Make an introduction to a friend or colleague to someone navigating a job transition.
Visit the Plus One Pledge site for more on the pledge and how to get connected to mentor opportunities. And share your stories on social media with the hashtag #PlusOnePledge.
